WE ARE INSTALLING A BRAKE CONTROLLER IN A 2013 FORD ESCAPE.THE BRAKE SWITCH IS A FOUR WIRE SWITCH.WHEN WE HOOK INTO THE WIRING.IT SEEMS TO BE BACK FEEDING.PRINTED OFF WIRE DIAGRAHAM AND FOUND THAT THE WIRES FEED THROUGH THE PCM.WHEN WE HIT BRAKE PEDAL,IT SAYS ERROR AND WHEN WE TRY IT MANUALLY,IT TURNS ON THE BRAKE LIGHTS.ANY IDEAS?

It sounds like there are some wires installed incorrectly.
When connecting the red wire to the stop light switch on your Escape, it should be attached to the purple/white wire. There is another purple wire, but it has orange and is not the correct wire for the brake controller. You can also use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check the wires for function.
Then run the 12 V black wire to the positive battery post using a 20-amp circuit breaker like part # 9506P.
The blue wire runs to the 7-way connector on the back of your Escape, and the white wire is attached to a clean metal surface for ground.
