What Type of Grease Should be Used to Grease Brake Caliper Bushing

Question:

Do you have a salt water proof grease for the Disc Brake Caliper slide points of contact. I have used regular disc brake grease, but it washes out. I have Kodiak Ceramic Brakes - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs. The attachment pins retain the grease because they are rubber sealed. The slide point area I am speaking of is the area where the Caliper and baking plate touch lightly till applying the breaks. When this area is greased the breaks do not stick for several trips. It is not the same wheel each time.

I spoke to my contact at Kodiak and explained to him your situation and he advised that only silicone based grease be used on the bushing that the caliper slides on. He said that if you used petroleum based grease the bushing will swell and the caliper won't function right. He told me to show you the picture that I attached.

If your bushings need to be replaced you would want the part # K225RB.
