How to Manually Move an 8,000 Pound Trailer
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Hi guys, Had much great help with the sway control I bought from you guys, as many other things. Now I need advice on moving an 8000Lbs travel trailer, tongue weight around 900-1000Lbs without a tow vehicle. I know they have dollies, but they are to low weight capacity. I have seen motorized dollies that can hNdle it, but they are very expensive. I know there is a hand cranked type of dolly that looks great, but heard that the weight capacity is also too low... Any ideas or suggestions?

You are right on everything you have said. The manual dollies like # RA20 do not have the capacity for your 8,000 pound trailer. There is a manual crank type, # STC-V211, but its tongue weight capacity is 500 pounds.
The motorized ones that you mentioned are not something that we carry but it is exactly what you need. If you will need to move the trailer around manually often then it would be a good investment. You might be able to find a used one by the usual means but remember that wit ha used one you can't be sure of the condition and it probably will not have any type of warranty.
