1997 chevy 3500CK truck, installing a brake controller. I have all the other wiring connected, but im having a hard time locating the brake wire so I can connect it to the controller. any info would be helpful.

To find the cold side of the brake pedal switch you will need to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993 if needed, and test the wires coming out of the connector on the brake pedal switch under the dash. The wire you are looking for has 12 volts only when the brake pedal is pressed.
I have posted links to installation instructions and a video for you to review that should help. At about 7 minutes and 23 seconds in the video testing for the brake pedal switch wire is demonstrated.
