What is the Towing Capacity of 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD and Hitch Recommendation

Question:

I wanted to know if my 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4 door long bed 4 wheel drive can pull a 1984 Stingray boat? The boat is 18.58 ft and weighs 2050 lbs. Can you please let me know? Also, can you let me know how much weight my truck can safely pull. I would like a boat, but I am not sure how much my truck can pull. Thank You!

I looked up your 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport and everything I found says that you have a 6,400 lb towing capacity. That would be more than enough for your 1984 Stingray that weighs 2,050 lbs.

If you were in need of a trailer hitch the Draw Tite hitch part # 75236 is a confirmed fit. It's capacities are lower though at 5,000 lbs total trailer weight.

For wiring you would then want the part # 118496.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

If you don't have the tow package you'll be creeping up towards its 4,400 pound capacity, but that size trailer will be safe to pull. I do still recommend verifying the limit of your particular model Tacoma in the owner's manual just to be sure.

Greetings, I’m trying to figure out if my 2013 Toyota Tacoma 2 wheel drive tow package can pull a 2 axle UHAUL Utility trailer. The cargo inside the trailer will be boxs of Medical gloves. The whole trailer will be FULL

From what I could find it looks like the max loaded weight of a U-Haul 2-axle utility trailer is 4,400 pounds. I doubt you'll get up to that weight but we can at least use that as a good gauge. If your Tacoma does have the tow package, I'm showing a limit of around 6,500 pounds so you shouldn't have any issues. I do still recommend verifying this capacity in your copy of the owner's manual though.
