Today we're going to be taking a look at PTC's line of custom fit engine fuel filters.You can get these for either diesel or gasoline engines.Your fuel filter takes contaminates that's in your fuel and separates it from the fuel so you only get raw fuel going to your fuel injectors and to your engine. This will help prolong the life of your components as well as give it the optimal amount of fuel that it needs to run properly.If you have restrictions in your fuel filter, it can cause a poor and low volume of fuel going to your injectors and engine causing poor performance, lower fuel mileage and, potentially stalls in the vehicle.These are your three typical styles of filters that you're going to find on your different vehicles. This is the most common you'll see on gasoline engines if the filter is present on those. Sometimes the filter is in the tank and it's not replaceable but this style will just go inline, it quick connects, it does come with new clips for your quick connects because it can be difficult to sometimes get the old clip out without damaging the clip. So, ti's nice that it comes with those.This fuel filter is directional. As you can see here, there is a flow, arrow going that way which means you want this side towards your fuel pump and you want this side towards your fuel injectors.

So, think of it this way, rear of the vehicle, front of the vehicle.Here's your cartridge style filter. This cartridge style filter comes with a cap. Now not always do you get the cap with the filter, sometimes you just get the cartridge and the cap you're going to reuse.And this is our typical spin-on style filter and this will just thread on and it's got a drain valve here at the bottom.This is the most common type that you'll see on diesel vehicles, is your spin-on filters.You will also find some of these paper style filters on your diesel vehicles as well.Our enclosed filters here are going to be leak tested to ensure a high quality product. So, I recommend that you replace your fuel filter on your diesel vehicles every oil change.On a gasoline engine you can get away with a lot longer.
