Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hitch installed very easy and was of excellent quality. Only issue was that the bolts were the wrong size for the factory installed nuts. Hint to anybody installing:Put a penetrating oil in the factory nuts, then clean them with a wire brush (gun cleaning brush or plumbing brush), then run the bolts in and out prior to holding the hitch in place. I saw some comments that the spring bolt wires were too short, but they are just fine. This issue must have been corrected by the manufacturer.

I bought this hitch in order to use a hitch-mount bike rack. It was pretty easy to install. I used some ramps to get more ground clearance for installation and had help from a friend. it is a clean looking unit, nothing ugly sticking out. The installation video was very helpful to watch before we did it.

This hitch is perfect for my Kuat bike rack. The finish is very high quality, installation was easy, and it looks great on the vehicle. It tucks up in the body perfect.

2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Very pleased with the Drawtite hitch and alternate wiring harness I ordered for our 2011 Equinox. The hitch install took less than fifty minutes and I was pleased that everything lined up and bolted together with no difficulties. The wiring harness installed in less than 10 minutes. Reviewing the Video's on your web site were a huge help when it came to the wire harness. By ordering everything from your company saved us 400.00 from a dealer install.

by:

Excellent! I could not be more pleased. The hitch arrived quickly and was well-packed. Installation was a breeze. The installation video was spot-on accurate and helpful. All the parts and instructions needed were present. The wires for threading the bolt and metal part into the bumper were exactly the right length -simple, fast and easy to do.

The receiver hitch itself appears to be very well made.

Even though the vehicle looks fine with the little hitch trim door removed, the instructions included details on how to cut the little hitch trim door to fit around the hitch. I did it and put the little trim door back on - wow! It looks great - an unexpected bonus.

Thank you to the folks at etrailer. I am a very pleased customer!

Great Hitch. My wife and I purchased this hitch specifically for mounting a bike rack on our 2012 Chevy Equinox 2LT. I ordered it Aug 9th and received it Aug 11th via 2 day shipping. There are six easy bolts that were extremely easy to install. The hardest part was holding it up. Strongly recommend you install with a partner so there's no chance of stripping or breaking bolts from stress. Some models do not already have all the holes needed but there is extra hardware for this. Fortunately ours was equipped with all 6 holes and I installed it in about 25 minutes with my wife's assistance. It's very stable and neat. Also, ensure you do it right and torque it within. Very happy with this purchase.

installed this Hitch (#36408) on my 2011 GMC Terrain the next day (7/6/11) and all went very well except that I had to bend the passenger-side upright support about one inch outward, in order to fit in place and bolt in.
The hitch may have been dropped on that side during shipping and was sticking out from the carton, but I was able to straighten it out to fit...all is perfect!

by:
2013 Chevrolet Equinox

Installation was a Breeze, no help, completed myself. Product ultra durable, easy to install, looks great. Pleased with how everything lined up well. Pull wire to feed block and bolt through bumper frame needs to be 6" longer. Only complaint. Used a coat hanger to add length. Would recommend if you want a hitch...and don't want to get ripped off at a dealer.

by:

unfortunatly I have been unable to put the hitch to use. Unforseen events, the hi temoertures and a few other things did not give me the opportunity to trailer my boat to go fishing. I hope this year will ndifferant & try out the hitch. That being said, the product & the installation & instructions were just great & that's a good thing. I will return with an upgrade in the future to give va response to you

by:

Hitch installed perfectly! No issues what so ever. I don't know who invented the wiring harness but they are a genius! I've never wired up a car so easily. It literally took me maybe 10 minutes start to finish.

On time delivery. Concern as to package condition upon receipt alleviated as all parts were accounted for and in operational condition. Installation was easier after watching videos from website. Printed instructions not very clear. All in all an excellent product at a very good price. Thank you.

We needed a hitch for our new 2017 Terrain to haul our bike carrier and maybe a small boat. Searched and found the best price at etrailer. Great looking hitch and perfect fit. Less than an hour to install and am very pleased with my purchase.

by:

I purchased the Draw-tite for my 2013 Terrain to use with a small trailer for yard work etc. I was surprised how quick the part showed up and the free shipping was great. I watched the video on installing it which helps. They indicated using a round wire brush to clean out the weldnuts and this is a must, especially if you live in the North. I spent time cleaning them and sprayed some oil in them and then ran a bolt in each nut to make sure the bolts would go in easily when I started the final ass'y. I used a floor jack to hold the hitch in place while I put in the four side bolts. I then pulled it out and installed the center bolts. I didn't tighten the bolts until I had all 6 in place. The product looks great on the SUV, it's tucked under the bumper so all you see is the receiver for the ball & drawbar.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox

I absolutely love dealing with etrailer.com. The hitch I purchased for my wife's new (to her) 2017 Chevy Equinox came a day earlier than estimated by etrailer. I had it installed the same day. The only problem I encountered was trying to thread the nuts on the center bolts in the bumper. My hands didn't seem to fit, and I had a devil of a time trying to thread them on, all the while fearing I would push the bolts back up into the bumper and lose them. I love how the hitch fits up under the vehicle, almost out of sight.
This is the third hitch I have purchased from etrailer and have yet to be disappointed. I would recommend the products they carry and their service to anyone and everyone.

Unfortunately, the wife traded her Equinox back in March of 2020. So I technically cant comment on performance 1 year later. However, for the 10 months we used the hitch,it performed without a hitch. Definitely recommend e-trailer.com to anyone looking for towing products. 5 star customer service.

Purchased the trailer hitch for our 2013 Terrain and it went on like a charm. Instructions were very CLEAR and easy to follow. Even attaching the light wiring was far easier than I anticipated. We liked it so much that we have gotten rid of our old bike carrier and purchased a hitch mounted bike carrier from you. It also fits perfectly.

Just purchase a new Equniox 2017, I had bids in at $400-$500 to get the hitch installed.

I decided to go with this purchase because of price and the video's which show me exactly how to do it.

One trailer place quoted me $100 to do the install of the wire harness ... it took me 20 minutes... that means he was charging me $300 an hour to do the electrical and then he wanted $10 per bolt to do the install of the hitch.

I forwarded them your Web site address and told them they should start doing business with you!

They Email me back thanking me for the information!

Extremely fast delivery and excellent communication from Etrailer folks. Directions need minor correction. We have a 2013 chevy equinox and we needed to use the pull wire tool to attach center bolts as the equinox bumper did not have threaded holes ,need to attach as if bumper was from a Saturn. Maybe when GM dumped the Saturn line, they are using some old bumpers on their Chevys and not telling anyone??? But other than that ( and threading the bolts through the bumper can be alittle tricky, i used thicker wire than provided and was alot easier to do), the hitch is farely easy to install and is quality . Hi Patrick, all is well, we use the hitch for a bike rack, and its working fine. Thanks for the followup.

  • How to Determine Hitch-Mounted Cargo Carrier Weight Capacity on 2010 Chevrolet Traverse
The Curt Class III hitch # 13424 that fits your 2010 Chevrolet Traverse LT2 has a tongue weight (TW) capacity of 500-lbs when used with a hitch-mount cargo carrier like their # C18150.
