This semi-custom SportRack roof rack easily installs on your vehicle's bare roof so you can carry extra cargo to your next destination. Adjustable, rotating footpads combine with an easy-to-use numbering system to make the rack conform to your roof for a good fit.

A unique numbering system is inscribed on the crossbars to aid in installation. This system corresponds to numbers noted in the easy-to-read application guide. First, find the number indicated for your car, and then slide the roof-rack feet along the crossbars until they line up with the appropriate number for your application. Tighten the feet in place with the included Allen wrench.

Refer to the application guide to find specific measurements that allow you to properly position the rack on your roof. To begin installing the roof rack on your vehicle, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Place the front crossbar first, and make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.

Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.

Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. After the front crossbar is positioned, review the instructions for the measurements needed to place the rear crossbar and repeat the same process for that crossbar.

Once everything is tightened down, place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.

About 6 months ago I purchased this rack to mount on my 2014 Honda Civic. I paired a Malone J-style kayak carrier with it and successfully transported two kayaks (with tie downs of course) about 30 miles driving at highway speeds on multiple occasions. So far I am happy with this purchase, although there are a few pretty notable Cons that I would like to mention:

1) I followed the placement instructions very carefully, but the bars are not positioned flat due to the curve of the roof, at least on my civic. After attaching the J-Cradles to the bars you can really see the tilt to each; I included a photo showing this. This was a concern I had when buying these, but assumed the bar angle would be adjustable. As far as I can tell this can not be adjusted. Fortunately, as you can tell in the other image I attached, the kayaks still sit well in the cradle even with this tilt. Not ideal, but it works.

2) A more serious issue I have with this rack is with how it attaches to my car, and the creep that can occur once attached. When first installing the rack I had to run back and forth carefully tightening each side. If I tightened one side too much the clamp would POP OFF on that side by the time I made it to the other side to tighten that side. I found myself trying to get the perfect balance between tight enough to not jiggle, but not so tight that it pops off. Once I finally achieved this with all of the clamps, I noticed that the clamps would creep out of the door jambs over time and I routinely needed to check on them and adjust the tightness every few days. The clamps seem to be staying in place pretty consistently now, but one day out of nowhere I came outside to see one of the clamps had popped off. Not exactly confidence inspiring, and definitely adds a level of stress to my daily commute. This is something I check every time before driving my car now.

At the end of the day, I needed a cheap roof rack that works and this does the trick. Some people in these reviews think it’s ugly, but personally I really like the design of the rack. I did want to inform others considering this rack on these safety issues though, as I do not consider this a long term solution and will be purchasing a more stable option as soon as I can afford to.

Yeah, since this is a semi custom fit it wont have the exact fit that you would find with a full custom made part. Even on custom parts you still need to adjust them back and forth and check them several times each trip to be safe.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE PIECE OF GARBAGE!
We
read instructions and installed carefully. Weighed bicycle and rack to make sure it wasn't over the weight limit. Took off for first spring ride, got on the interstate and the whole rack slid off of the roof and VERY LUCKILY landed on the side of the road upright without harming any other motorists. It did, however, cause damage to the roof/window area of the car that will cost a fortune to repair and gouged the rear window. The cheap clamps that attach the rack to the roof weren't strong enough to hold the rack on and all broke and/or pulled/twisted off. It was a windy day and it happened when going about 60 mph.

A good rack to transport my kayak.
Instructions
were clear, and the fitting guide was accurate for my 2017 Toyota Corolla.
Once I figured out what was going on, the rack went on perfectly. It is snug on the car.
Unloaded, there is no wind noise created by the rack.
I added 3 1/4" diameter pool noodles to the rack crossbars.
Cut the noodle lengthwise, wiggle it over the bar, and secure with zip ties.
Use medium thread lock on all the screws.
I've had positive comments on the rack.

The rack has been on the roof of my Toyota Corolla SE with a 6 speed manual transmission Woo hoo! for a year now. After numerous loadings and unloadings of my Pelican Bandit 100NXT 10 foot kayak, the rack is still rock solid on the car. No adjustments or tightening have been needed. This is a top-notch rack.

2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Installed very easily in about 30 mins. Good, solid roof rack for the money. The reason I rated 4 stars is because on my car, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, the weather stripping seals at the top of the doors gets pushed out quite a ways and there’s a decent amount of wind noise that comes in through there. Enough noise comes in that I will have to purchase some additional weather stripping and place it near the clamp of the rack inside the door where it shuts. I have no other complaints besides that. Just be aware of the weather stripping on your car if it’s similar to what is on a 2012 Jetta. I will update once I install the additional weather stripping to see if it helps or not.

I recommend to add a fairing to divert the wind to reduce the wind noise. I recommend Inno fairing part INA262 to fit the 50 square bars of your roof rack.

2013 Honda Civic

We bought this rack so that we could use a car top soft side luggage bag when we moved from Iowa to Manitoba in December last year. I modified the rack to accommodate the soft side luggage bag by fitting it with bent pieces of electrical conduit (see the photo). The luggage bag sat on top of the conduit and was strapped to the sport rack and it worked amazingly well. We drove through some nasty cold and wind and it stayed where it was put.

Since we did not want to drive a large moving truck in the winter, we moved with only the stuff we carried in (and on) the car that day. When we went back for the moving truck last summer, we brought the canoe to Manitoba and started using the sport rack (minus the conduit pieces) to carry our old style 72 lbs aluminum canoe on top of the car. Again, works like a charm. I have now acquired proper straps for attaching the canoe to the car and sport rack, but I see no reason to upgrade the rack.

The only drawback of the rack is making sure I don't lose the instructions on exactly where to place it on top of the car, and the fact that putting it on for the season is a bit fiddley, but once it was on it rode there all summer, comes off quickly and easily, and takes up very little space for storage. We love our sport rack. It turned out to be a great purchase!

Bought this to transport my fishing kayak. Got it today and installed it. Directions were super easy, and had it on in 15 minutes. Put the kayak up and strapped it down, took it for a test drive. At speeds of 50mph, it held flawlessly. Good sturdy construction, and a wonderful product. I would totally recommend this product.

Its been about a year, and I still love this product. Got a new vehicle and the racks adjusted easily to fit it. Have hauled 2 kayaks on them, and still no issues. They are as good as the day I first got them. Still 5 stars and definitely would recommend buying these.

2010 Ford Edge

As of this review, we've had the roof rack for one year. The rack was put on my wife's 2010 Ford Edge. She's used it to carry her kayak mostly, but has also carried 2x4's she bought it Home Depot, and a Christmas tree. We have had zero issues with this roof rack. If you are looking for a reasonably priced roof rack for your vehicle, I would recommend this product.

2017 HondaAccord

Super easy to install. So far have only carried my bike on top of my accord but plan to throw my canoe up there at some point. Little wind noise but not bad. Very sturdy and great construction. Have hot 90 on the freeway with my bike loaded with no issues. For the price this rack can't be beat for sure! Very satisfied! Also, super fast shipping. Thank you etrailer.com!

2014 Toyota Corolla

Installation of the SR1010 was a bit challenging. Had to go back and forth, up and down to make sure all the measurements are done correctly. Dimensions giving on the instruction manual was off for the 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus. The leg kit clamps could have been a little more flexible to fit the naked roof. Installation time took a little over hour. I wouldn’t recommend SR1010 to anyone who is a novice. “You get what you pay for.” That’s what my wife told me.

2014 Subaru Legacy

Ok, this rack will take a bit of man handling...if you have a 2014 legacy, then you should forget about the fit quide cause you won't be even close to installing this rack... So, I called e trailer cs, and they advised me to basically install it in the best and safest way on my car. I still followed the measurements and spacing based on the manual. Viola it fits!

by:

Got this to haul a wooden canoe to and from bodies of water on my Chevy Cruz. Works as intended. The canoe is very heavy, but the bars handle it very well. One word of caution. I keep my racks on essentially permanently. You will hear a lot of wind noise at or above 70 MPH and they can catch crosswinds. Overall, though, I kind of expected that. They're a wonderful addition to my vehicle.

by:

It has been great no troubles at all.

2015 Toyota Corolla

I was kinda skeptical of buying this off name brand, but so glad I did. It saved me money and works just as good as the name brand products. I've carried everything form a surfboard to lumber. It looked funny at first carrying lumber but it served it's purpose.

Came beat up. Messaged the help desk and haven't gotten a reply. I have a trip in two days and don't know if I will be able to use this because I don't want to install one that came beat up like this and not get a refund. Disappointed in the lack of response. All I got was a survey back from them. These pictures show four separate flaws in the racks. Pluse one part of it has a slight bend in not shown in pictures.

by:
2013 Subaru Legacy

Save your money for a name brand rack. I should have known right from the beginning, with the poorly packaged rack, what I was in for. Fortunately, no damage from shipping were noted. Following the instructions to the T, the racks could not be securely fastened, as after a few minutes, one side or the other would pop off. I attempted numerous crossbar adjustments shorter and longer, but none could properly secure to the car, with the clamp hook always working itself off the door jamb. It appears that the manufacturer simply attempted to roughly copy other manufacturer's designs, but had no understanding of the geometry required to prevent the hooks from rising off the door jambs. Unfortunately, due to another poor design issue, I will not be able to return them, because the crossbars become marked when tightening the adjustment clamp even lightly. (they come fully assembled, so they are already marked straight from the factory) I might, maybe, be able to modify them to work, but I have such little trust in the design, I'm not even going to bother. A foolish error on my part, trying to save a little money.

Works great. Haven’t had a single issue in the year I’ve had it. Easy to intstall and very secure. I bought kayak holders that work great with it too!

2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Got the rack for my 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ to attach j racks to haul kayaks. Fits great, had to adjust between 17-16 on bar setting, feels very solid, installs and removes easily. Have not been able to take kayaks out yet but feeling confident the rack will work great. Came assembled, with instruction pamphlet, all materials received were in great shape. Plan to do a future review after utilizing rack when weather is better but at this time is as advertised and feeling excited.

by:

Well, I'm less than thrilled with the appearance. They look a lot like a semi-universal fit aftermarket roof rack, but since that's exactly what it is and the quality is good at a very reasonable price, it's hard to complain loud enough to be heard. For full disclosure, I had to glue the rubber pads to the bottom of the clamp-on brackets to prevent them from "rolling" out, and I had to tweek the brackets ever so slightly to make a perfect fit. And after misplacing the key, it took about 10 minutes to make a replacement from a thin piece of metal, so the locks are just good enough to stop an honest thief. But having said all that, if I ever need a roof rack for another car, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this same brand and style. I should also mention that don't leave them on all the time, but I made notes for the exact placement, so re-installation is very quick and easy. Lastly, they're plenty strong. I'm sure they could handle more weight than the rating, but I wouldn't try it for fear of bending the roof.

Works as advertised. A very reasonably priced set of removable roof racks that are easy to install as needed. Fast shipping too.

The rack arrived fast and was fairly easy to install , no tools needed only the Allen wrench which was provided. Great price also, the rack is very sturdy and good quality.I would recommend to anyone who’s on a budget that’s looking into getting a roof rack that doesn’t want to spend a lot of money.

2013 Chevrolet Cruze

I put the racks on my car last night, took me a bit to figure out how to adjust them but once I figured it out I realized the instructions were spot on . . . just took me some fussing to have it sink into my brain. They look nice, can't wait to put the j-hooks and kayaks on tonight. It rained overnight and it looks like they didn't make my doors leak so that's good. I haven't used them for hauling the kayaks yet, hopefully I'll still be happy with my purchase after that. So far so good!

I am very pleased with this buy--the moment I unpacked it I was relieved because it was obviously sturdy and well-built. Mounting it was a matter of about 15 minutes, being careful. This is so much less expensive than any of the alternatives--basically half the price, that I wondered. Don't. Fits my Impala fine and handles my kayak.
