At first when I opened the product, I thought that it might have been too small. My car has only 2-doors, so I was skeptical how it was going to hold. I was also concerned about my antenna location. With the adapter, it really looks good on the car, and really solid as well. It does leak a little when it rains out, but a little rain isn't going to stop me from having fun, and I expected it to leak a little from the mounts in between the door panel. I can't wait to add the kayak carriers onto it. I haven't ordered those parts yet, but will soon. here are a few pics to look at. I recommend it.

What number is the front and rear set to. I have my front 20 and rear 19 like the book says and one side goes off the car.

I bought the roof rack for my Toyota Solara to transport a 50 lb kayak to and from the water. I've used the rack perhaps 50 days so far. It performed as you would hope: no failures. What surprised me was how well it performs on the interstate. I wouldn't recommend taking it over 80 mph, but anything up to that point is incredibly stable.

Some cons: the rack is at its most outreached point, so that the caps are all that's holding it in place. My quick, cheap and effective fix was to use those flat rubber bungees from one cap to another. Another lightly irritating part is that the metal rubs up against the top of the window while driving, creating a chirping squeaking noise. Roll the window down to just below this point and you should be able to avoid a lot of road noise as well as the rubbing noise. The initial setup was lengthy, maybe an hour. Since getting it set up right though, taking it off is 5 minutes and putting it on is 10 minutes.

Overall review: you get what you pay for. Not the greatest removable roof rack out there, but for the price, you get a pretty good deal.

As I said in your other review it is a semi custom part so it wont be a perfect fit.

Love the product just don't like the issue of it coming loose after a while

by:

I needed the short rack for an Acura Integra. Has worked out really well!

by:

This was an excellent product for my Lexus SC300 (curved roof + 2 Door), I was skeptical at first, but I have no complaints!

by:

Good. Product just needs to be longer for people using to transport kayaks

  • Roof Rack Fit for 2006 Ford Focus 3-Door With Sun Roof
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # SR1002 and the Short Roof Adapter # SR1116 will fit your 2006 Ford Focus 3-Door with sun roof. The presence of the sun roof does not prevent installation of the rack, but it is possible that some rack-mount accessory items such as certain types of ski or bike racks may prevent operation of the sun roof if their hardware extends much below the level of the crossbars.

  • Roof Rack And Cargo Basket Recommendation For 2002 Honda Accord 2-Door
We do carry a few roof racks that are designed to fit your 2002 Honda Accord 2-door. The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack, is a fit and has a crossbar spread of 23-1/2 inches. To order this rack you need to order 2 part numbers, part # SR1002, and part # SR1116. The Curt Roof Cargo Carrier, part # C18115 requires a crossbar spread of 15, 22, or 29 inches. Unfortunately, all of the roof racks we carry have crossbar spreads that would not work with the Curt Carrier, but I do may have a solution. I...

  • Roof Rack and Cargo Basket for 2002 Honda Accord 2-Door
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack consisting of parts # SR1002 and # SR1116 is indeed a correct fit for your 2002 Honda Accord 2-door. When installed on your roof the two square cross bars will be separated (as measured from the center of one bar to the center of the other) by 23-1/2-inches. The Curt cargo basket you referenced, part # C18115, requires that the vehicle cross bar spread be one of three specific distances (15-, 22-, or 29-inches) in order for its mounting hardware to install...

  • Recommended Roof Rack For A 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier
I recommend the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # SR1005 for your 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. The roof rack has a weight capacity of 130 pounds and has an easy installation with no tools required. If you have a short roof or a dramatically curved roof line you will also need the SportRack short-roof adapter # SR1116. If you can reach back to me on what you plan to use on the roof rack I will be able to send you suggestions on parts that would work on your roof rack.

  • Snow Board Carrier and Description of How SportRack Roof Rack Works on 1995 Honda Civic Coupe
If you look at the photo one of our customers submitted, you'll get a better idea of how the SportRack # SR1003 roof rack and the # SR1116 Short Roof Adapter fit together. Because your vehicle is a coupe and there's not a second set of doors at the rear of the vehicle, without the short roof adapter the crossbars would mount so close together, they couldn't be used for anything. The adapter provides side rails and another set of clamps that allow the rear crossbar to be moved rearward a...

  • Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Fit for a 1999 Honda Civic Si
For your husband's 1999 Honda Civic coupe Si the Sportrack Roof Rack part numbers # SR1003 and # SR1116 is a confirmed fit. The kayak carrier part # SR5511 that you also referenced would then fit this rack and work well.

  • Can the Bar Spread for SportRack Roof Rack for a 1999 Honda Civic be Increased
You would need some extra support because a roof rack fit is based on the most stable and strongest locations on the roof. What I recommend is using the short roof adapter # SR1116 which will allow you to more safely expand the bar spread so you can use the carrier. Please make sure that the kayak does not exceed the capacity of the roof which may be found in the owners manual or by contacting Honda.

Even though the SportRack Roof Rack # SR1005 with # SR1116 isn't a fit for your 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, I do have a roof rack solution for you. The Inno with short roof adapter kit system # INB117, # INSUT, # INJK, # INK153 is a confirmed fit for your 2005 Sunfire. • Roof Rack Recommendation for 1997 Lexus SC 300
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack part numbers # SR1005 and # SR1116 is a confirmed fit for your 1997 Lexus SC 300. For the price this option is tough to beat, but this is a semi-custom rack that isn't going to fit as well as a fully custom rack. For a fully custom rack I would strongly recommend the Inno part numbers # INB117, # INSUT, # INJK, and # INK153 which is going to fit much better.

I have good news, the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # SR1010 can be used on your 2013 Honda Civic Coupe. But since you have the Coupe and not the Sedan, you will also need to use the Short-Roof Adapter for SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Racks # SR1116 for proper fitment.

  • Will SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack Fit a 2004 Nissan Frontier King Cab
In order to get the SportRack roof rack # SR1005 to fit your 2004 Nissan Frontier King Cab (extended cab) you will need to use the short roof adapter # SR1116. This leaves the mounts for the rear bar towards the back of the doors but the actual bar will be a little further back and still supported by the roof. Without the adapter the crossbar spread would be too short to properly support roof mounted accessories.
