Today we're going to take a look at the Derale Screw-on Thermal Fan Clutch with Reverse Rotation.Now, this will fit various GM model vehicles. Now, the fan clutch is an important component of most of your belt-driven fan systems. It ensures that the fan's engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate air flow to your vehicle's cooling system. So basically when sufficient airflow is present, as is usually the case when your vehicle's at high speeds, the clutch will disengage the fan to save on power, removing that additional load from your engine so that it may run more efficiently. A thermal fan clutch like this one will rely on this thermostatic coil right up here to read the under hood temperature, and when that temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional air flow for the cooling system. And if the temperature drops to the set level, the fan will disengage to save on the power and decrease the load against the engine, allowing it to run more efficiently.This fan clutch is an aluminum construction.

Allows for maximum heat dissipation. You can see it has a multi-fin design. It transfers greater volume of air to dispel more heat, and it does use a heavy-duty bearing with high-temperature moly grease inside. Creates a more durable, higher functioning clutch.This one is a reverse rotation design, which means it's counter-clockwise when you're standing at the front of the engine. It is a screw-on installation and it does include the four mounting bolts for installing the fan to the clutch.
