Review of the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2007 Toyota Prius

Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we will be test fitting the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number C18145. Now with our vehicle equipped with the 1-1/4 inch hitch, we removed the included adapter and we are ready to fit it to the vehicle. We will simply slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hold and install the anti-rattle bolt. With the anti-rattle bold tight, our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. We will now go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest point of the cargo carrier to the back of the vehicle, is 4 inches.

The cargo carrier will add an additional 2 feet of overall length to the vehicle and at the back of the cargo carrier, our ground clearance is 9-3/4 inches. Now, the exhaust on the cargo carrier exits the passenger rear and is approximately 8 inches from the cargo carrier, so there may be some heat transfer while driving down the road. And that completes our test fit of the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number C18145 on our 2007 Toyota Prius.
