Delivery was fast as always with etrailer.com. Part was expensive for what it is but that is the manufacturing and not the company.

Useless now that the jack came apart while driving down the road. Have to replace the jack after one year of use and the drill attachment is useless unless I buy another jack...

by:

I purchased my trailer valet and drill attachment a year ago so that I could move my 20’ camper and jetskis easier. As a disabled vet moving the jetskis into my backyard via a gate to the main road was time consuming and took me an hour. Now it takes me 5-10 minutes. I store my trailer to the front of my home and wanted to make it harder to steal, but had no way to get the front of it close to my fence. With the trailer valet I am able to disconnect from my truck and move it into place within 15 minutes. This is a game changer for me because I can do it by myself and my trailer and jetskis are safely stored without much fuss. I often get asked how I move the front of my trailer so close to my fence. The trailer valet is the best thing I could have purchased. I can get in and out of tight spaces without hurting myself and without anyone else needing to help me.

by:

Works great, using the Half inch drill to run the jack makes raising and lowering the trailer so much easier especially when hooking up the weight distribution bars.

by:

A lock without a key is useless! Similarly, should I drop/lose/miss-place this specialized driver for the Trailer-Valet, the hand-cranking :( option will be the only one! Hey -- we pay for car- homeowners- health- and all sorts of other insurances. To me, the purchase of this -- to store "just in case" in glove box -- seems to be a quite wise "investment". "Lost-driver Insurance" :) :) :)

Great product ... great price !

I have an extremely narrow area that I cannot back up my boat between the side of my house and fence. My truck cannot make the turn required and it is slightly uphill. With the drill attachment and my 18 volt brush less drill moving the boat into place using the Trailer Valet is an easy task that I could not do without this device. It was the deciding factor that allowed me to purchase the boat.

by:

Works as described!!

by:

I've used my Trailer Valet to move my 20' enclosed utility trailer around the driveway.
I've also used it to move my 30' camper around, putting planks down on the lawn to run the Valet across. It works good, but is quite a workout with heavy trailers. In confined spaces, there's just no other way to do the job. I would like to have my original Valet adaptable to the newer, "universal ball-mount" style so I wouldn't have to buy a new unit and just set aside the original unit. The new "ball-mount" Valet would greatly simplify using the Valet. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and operation of my original unit.

This review will be for not only the Trailer Valet attachment, but for the Trailer Valet as well.
The good: works well on cement and with the attachment I don't have to push my boat into my garage (it has a slight incline at the entrance). E-Trailer is excellent for customer support! I had a couple of minor issues and they were really on top of getting me help.
The not-so-good: I've heard the Trailer Valet doesn't perform on grass or gravel. The attachment is made specifically for the Trailer Valet and you will not find another socket to work. Too bad the company chose to make extra money ($45) for a $5 part. On the Trailer Valet the bushings needed lubrication after one year because it started grinding. A simple fix but until I raised this issue the company did not have a video on how to do this maintenance. You will have to purchase ring clip pliers for this job.

by:

The installation of my Trailer Valet 5X has been simple and quick. However, I had some challenges which I anticipated before I placed the order.
I have a 20' travel trailer with a battery case and 2-30 lb propane cylinders on the hitch. Furthermore, there is also a weight distribution hitch and the left end side has a large Virginia Safety Inspection sticker on the hitch that must not be obstructed.
With the right hand side being the only place, I had to work out the 4 bolt location of the Trailer Valet bracket on the inside of the hitch to clear the support of the battery and the propane cylinders.
The last challenge was the weight distribution bar which was too close to the Trailer Valet bracket. Fortunately, the EQUAL-I-ZER 4 POINT SWAY CONTROL has a tild adjustment that allowes to lower the weight distribution bar where it otherwise would touch the Trailer Valet bracket.
Without this adjustment my project would have been ruined.

I will send you a picture after my next trip at the End of August when the trailer is hooked up.

by:

Works very well with my new trailer jac k.

by:

The drill attachment for the Trailer Valet Makes a fairly easy task even easier. If you have a Trailer Valet do yourself a favor and get the drill attachment believe me you won't regret
it. It works great on ramps, and small ruts. Throw some sand down on the ice and you'll be surprised what you can do without cranking and just running the drill.

by:

Overall, I think this product does an OK job. Being 6'1", it is too low to comfortably turn the handle. I would like to see the whole gear drive system be raised an additional 1 1/2' - 2'. That would put the lower handle position at a height where you can get some power behind each revolution.
Turning of the trailer is also quite difficult. Takes quite a bit of effort to get the trailer going the direction you need.
This product works OK on flat and level concrete, any bumps or depression in the surface, this produce has a hard time traversing. Too much tire slippage.
I think this product would be fine on a very small trailer, but doesn't far so well with mine.
Because of these issues I have created my owner electric driven trailer mover.
There is room to improve this product.

so far this unit looks to be great and exactly what I needed. Since I am getting older I am trying to do everything I can to make my RV'ing and trailer life easier. I pull a cargo trailer behind my 5th wheel. The trailer Valet will allow me to hitch the 2 up much easier. It also allows me to park my 5th wheel in my back yard and my cargo trailer next to it without having to be hooked up to my truck. etrailer recommends using the low gear to start and I can confirm that. There is a little bit of getting used to driving and steering it. I do recommend using your drill and the Socket that is purchased separately. Makes it a lot easier. I will be using mine as a permanent trailer jack. I think this will be fine

by:

I am glad I bought the trailer valet unit. It has made getting our travel trailer in and out of our garage a lot easier. I would say that using the drill option for moving the trailer is useful, but the torque can hand you with some surprises, so you need to think ahead as you use that option. One useful hint: take the regular handle off before using the drill. In general, this device has worked well for us.

by:

Item is fine but having crank system proprietary is silly. This drill attachment costs much more than it is worth but to go without it makes moving the trailer with the trailer valet very difficult for smaller or older people. The drill attachment should part of the basic trailer valet package and the crank shaft should be a standard sized hex shape to use the same size socket, if only for safety reasons for the elderly.

by:

In the write-up of the Trailer Valet XL, it was unclear whether this device was included or not. It was. So I wasted my money ordering this, but I needed to use the Valet as soon as I received it, so I couldn't take the change of having to order one later.

by:

Make moving the trailer a breeze. The hand crank is OK for short adjustments when hooking up, but using a battery drill is great for longer distances. BE SURE THE BRAKE IS OFF before applying power.

by:

You must be very careful using this product. You should have two hands on the drill and a second person holding the steering tiller. My 18 volt drill has enough torque (even in low speed setting) that it will rip the drill out of my hand. I have better luck just hand cranking the dolly which works very well.

by:

Works so well that I use it almost exclusively to move the trailer rather than hand cranking. Just make sure you have a strong drill and battery as it uses a lot of power on the high gear but it moves the trailer faster also!

by:

This is one fabulous product! It allows me to move my new 19' Ranger bass boat with ease into my garage. The installation was super easy. If you can tighten up 4 bolts you'll have no trouble installing this. It took me 10 minutes. I originally bought the Trailer Valet XL but after using it a few times I determined it would be easier to move my trailer from the side. Etrailer allowed me to return the XL and exchange it for the 5x. Their customer service was the best I've ever experienced. I also purchased the Drill adapter to use with this. Its a little pricey but well worth it as it makes it SO much easier. I'm very pleased with this purchase and with the service I received from ETrailer.

by:

I park our Big Tex 18' car transporter trailer facing inward in its parking place (ie, ramps at the back) so I can drive our little sports car directly off. But then, of course, if I want to trailer the car somewhere, I have to turn it around to hitch on. This was a real pain, impossible for me to do by myself. The 5X Trailer Mover works great, I can park and move the trailer myself (turns out, even with the car loaded, in my case...my total weight is about 4400 lbs loaded). The 5X unit is very heavy duty, it weighs over 50 lbs.

etrailer did a great job, package arrived very quickly, and they sent an email in case I had any issues. You wouldn't go wrong with this product.

by:

When this package arrived it was damaged and the part was missing. I contacted etrailer and they immediately sent me out the replacement. I have done business with etrailer in the past and have always been impressed by the quality of their products and now I’m also so impressed by their customer service!! It’s rare to find that in today’s marketplace. Thank you etrailer!!

  • Options For Pushing A Trailer With 1,000 Pound Smoker Up A Slope
Hi Nicholas! Out of all the options we carry, I think the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover - Topwind - 15" Lift - 5,000 lbs # STC-V211 you found is the best option for you. It bolts onto frames that are up to 2-3/4" wide x 6" tall, so it covers just about everything. I would grab the Drill Attachment included with the Trailer Valet XL, V2, or MV PRO Trailer Dolly # TVDA as it really makes moving it around a lot easier. • Can the Trailer Valet 5X # STC-V211 Handle a Trailer with 500 lbs Tongue Weight
Technically if your trailer has a tongue weight (TW) of 500 lbs then it falls into the 500 lb max TW rating of the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211. The only problem that I see is that you are at the max capacity of this jack and you typically want some cushion so that you aren't straining the product. It will wear down much quicker and it will really be pushing the brake. I recommend going with the ball mount version of this jack which comes with a 2" ball # TVXL2...

This is operated by the included hand crank or you can use the included Drill Attachment that will let you use a cordless power drill to move the trailer around. This will fit a trailer frame up to 6" tall and 2-3/4" wide and has 15" of lift in the jack. We currently do not have a manual dolly that will work with the Max Coupler receiver.
