How To Wire A 4-Way On a Trailer With 5 Wires

We are trying to wire our trailer that has 5 wires to our new 4 wire plug. What colors do we splice together

I would love to help but the only way for certain to be sure you are connecting the correct wires together is to test for function. In order to do this for the trailer you will need to apply 12 volt power to each wire to see which circuit this illuminates. This is the only true way to determine the correct functions as trailer manufactures can use different color wires sometimes and the same can be said for the last person to wire the trailer. Please note when attaching two wires you really want to use butt connectors part # DW05744-5 instead of just electrical tape.
