Tire Pressure for Carlisle ST225/75R15 LR E Trailer Tire

Question:

New 4 tires today. Mounted and balanced by local Walmart at 50psi. Tires state 80psi. It weighs 8klbs W/o water. I need at least 70psi, Right?

You will want to inflate the tires to the max psi that the tires have. Trailer tires always need to be inflated to their max pressure to ensure you get their full capacity whereas the max psi rating for a wheel is just how much in total it can handle. Since your tires state they need 80 psi you would need to inflate them to 80 psi when they are cold and you'd be set.

This is incorrect and dangerous information. Please update with the correct information. Every tire manufacture publishes a load inflation chart that contains the correct information.

@Matthew You are thinking of vehicle tires which are different from trailer tires. Only Goodyear has an inflation chart for trailer tires. The rest do not.
