Why Is Sway Control Not Used On Wet Roads

Why do yall not recommend using the sway control in wet conditions. Seems like thats when you need it the most.

Expert Reply:
Sway control is used to prevent the trailer from moving around when in high winds and passing vehicles, and helps keep the trailer in line on dry pavement.
When towing in slippery road conditions like snow, ice, or wet roads, It is recommended to turn the sway-control unit off or counterclockwise until all of the tension is removed from the unit. Failing to do so could cause a trailer that may be sliding to pull the rear end of the towing vehicle and create a dangerous situation.
