Question:
Hello, I have a 2014 Ram 1500. The majority of my towing is a single axle trailer with either a sport bike or 2 4 wheelers. The only heavyinch towing I will be doing is a large Uhaul trailer from NJ to SC when I move in March. Will the Class III Curt hitch 13333 suit my needs or should I step up to the class IV 14374? Thank You,

That depends on a few things. First you need to consider the capacity of the Curt Hitch part # 13333 that you are interested in. Without weight distribution this hitch has a 600 lb tongue weight capacity and a 6,000 lb total trailer weight capacity. If you know that the trailer you plan to tow when you move will weigh less than that when fully loaded then this hitch would be adequate.
If you think you would need more capacity then the # 14374 would be a better choice since it has 1,000 lbs tongue weight 10,000 lbs total trailer weight.
Another thing you need to consider is the weight capacity of your 2014 Ram 1500. In the owners manual there will be towing capacities listed. The lowest rated component in a setup will be the overall capacity for the setup. So if your vehicle has lower capacities than either or both hitches it would be pointless to go with a higher rated hitch.
