Where on Trailer to Find VIN Information

Question:
i recently purchased an enclosed cargo trailer from an individual i would like to make sure its a shop made trailer and if there are no numbers on the tounge of the trailer were else on the trailer would i look for serial ,vin numbers would i look ?

If it's not located on the outside of the frame members that make up the trailer tongue, it might be on the inside of the frame members, so you might want to check there first. Then, examine the rest of the frame.
I've also seen the information on the front of the trailer. If the trailer has a toolbox, propane bottles or other obstructions on the tongue, they might be covering the VIN plate.
