If the 1997 Winnebago on the Ford E-350 chassis did not come with a factory trailer connector then in order to install a 7-Way you will need to first add a 4-Way. It is possible though that the T-connectors such as # 118344 for the 1997 Ford E-350 will not fit the RV body if it uses different lights than the regular E-350 vans.

If it does have alternate lights then you would need a hardwire 4-Way, # 18252. This is if the vehicle has the brake lights and turn signals on the same bulb. If the brake light and turn signals are on different bulbs you would need a converter, # 119178.

Then to add a 7-Way you need adapter # 37185. The 4-Way will plug into the adapter. The white wire gets grounded to the vehicle frame. The black wire is for 12 volt power, blue for electric trailer brakes, and purple for trailer reverse lights. Any functions not needed the associated wires can be taped up and stowed out of the way.

If you want all the functions to work then instead of # 37185 you can use # ETBC7. I have included some links to the right that will help with this installation.

If you need a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885. It is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
