Question:
I was looking at gooseneck adapters. I have one now and after reading more articles I have found that the setup Im currently running more than likely is not ideal. I came across the Goosebox and the BandW companion. I was wondering which one of these products works better or proven more solid than the other. I have a chevy 2500hd shortbed pulling a 35foot toyhauler with a gvw of 16500, and a tongue weight of 2500. Thanks

Both options are very solid. Your existing set-up will dictate which option would work better for you.
The Goosebox would replace the existing pin box on your fifth wheel, where it would be permanently installed. There are two Goosebox models. The # RP85FR would replace the Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD and the Fabex PB-600 series pin boxes. The # RP94716-61301 replaces the Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716 pin box. Both have a 20K capacity.
The B&W Companion Slider, part # BWRVK3400 has an 20K capacity, and is compatible with the B&W Turnover ball gooseneck hitch, so if that's the gooseneck hitch you have, the Companion slider would be an excellent choice.
I've linked you to our help article that contains more information about adapters for towing a fifth wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch.
