Wiring a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller on a 1998 Ford Expedition

I want to connect a 7 pin to my 98 Ford Expedition. I found the connector under the dash, next to the computer diagnostic port. Where underneath the rear of the vehicle would I find the connection for the 7 pin? Thanks

There are three different ways a brake controller is installed on your Expedition. If your vehicle has a factory 7-Way then all that is needed is a Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter for Ford, item # 3035-P, or a Ford adapter for the specific brake controller you select (see link).
If you have a factory installed 4-Way connector then you will need the above-mentioned items and a Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, item # 37185, to install the brake controller on your vehicle. The extra wiring will be spliced in along the driver side frame rail on the front side of a square connector (see link) above the spare tire. You will need to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993, to wire these wires to the correct circuits coming from the front of the vehicle.
If you do not have a factory installed 7 or 4-Way connector then you will need to use the brake controller wiring adapter along with a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 118344, and a Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7.
