have 04 dakato quad cab with bx1939 blue ox bars what adapter do i need to fit my roadmaster explorer #cw18803 tow bar

Expert Reply:
The RoadMaster Explorer Tow Bar is a car mounted tow bar so there is no adapter available to adapt it to Blue Ox Base Plates.
The only option available for the 2004 Dodge Dakota with the Explorer Tow Bar is to use RoadMaster base plates. You have 2 options for base plates on that vehicle. If it is 4 wheel drive then you can choose the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 266-1, and if it is 2 wheel drive you can choose the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 271-1. You will be able to attach your Explorer tow bar to these base plates. For ease of removal you may also want to consider the Quick Disconnects, item # RM-201, which will allow you to remove the towbar easily and will allow the draw bars to be removed from the vehicle when not in tow.
