Question:

Has anyone tried this mirror on a 2014 VW Touareg. If so, does it work well without marring the paint or deforming the fender/hood sheet metal?

We have not had any customers specifically state they have used the fender mount towing mirror, # WM6600, on a Volkswagen Touareg. The hooks that attach the mirror to the vehicle are coated so as not to damage the vehicle finish. How tight it is depends on how tight you make it so if you tightened it down excessively it could deform the metal on the vehicle.

Another option and the most stable mirror is the door mount mirror # 11650. Provided there is no cladding or molding at the bottom of the door on your Touareg this mirror would be a great option.
