The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero rack, which includes black crossbar part # RRVA126B-2 that you referenced, along with parts # RRRLKVA and # DK381, will work great for a surfboard. This rack has a 165-lb capacity and it will be compatible with a wide range of carriers.
I have included a link to our surfboard carriers that will fit aero-shape bars. I recommend the Inno Board Locker Surfboard Carrier # INA744 because it includes locks (no extra expense) and because it will handle 2 longboard or 3 shortboard surf boards.
