Installation of Redline 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2

Updated 08/19/2014 | Published 08/16/2014

Question:

I purchased 2 of item #HMAV2-AVT2 Trailer vent and have a 6foot X 10inch Wells Cargo enclosed trailer. Would like a recommendation as to where to put these items to be most effective and so that water does not enter during travel? It has a man door on roadside near front and to barn style doors on rear. Thanks for your help !!!!!

The exterior portion of the Redline 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 has its slotted opening at the bottom surface, so you will want to be sure to install the vent with this portion facing the road. I also suggest you use a silicone caulk/sealant like TremPro # 0160297 on the mounting flange of the outside housing to help prevent entry of water from outside.

For maximum effectiveness you will want to place the vents where they will receive the most air flow. This may depend to an extent on the size and shape of your tow vehicle. If you place the two vents on opposite sides of the trailer (say one at the front left and one at rear right) you will get better cross ventilation. When it comes to vents more are better (more air flow = more cooling) so feel free to add additional units as required. If you use four, I would place one near each corner close to the roof where the inside air will be warmest.
