Electric Jack Recommendation for Bumper Pull Horse Trailer
Updated 12/18/2025 | Published 08/07/2014 >
Question:
I have read all of your material and need to decide which jack to buy for my 2-horse bumper pull 4-Star trailer - I haul with Reese Equilizer bars to lift the weight off my truck as it is a bit under-powered. My tongue weight is only 1875#. There are so many to choose from it is difficult. I just need something to save my back during hookup. I am looking at either a Bulldog or the Atwood 80515.

Since the Atwood Jack part # 80515 has been discontinued the decision would be pretty easy for you. The Bulldog Jack part # BD500200 is not only the obvious choice between the two you referenced, this jack is an excellent jack with plenty of power for your setup that has been reviewed highly by our customers who have bought and used it.
I attached an install and review video for this jack for you to check out as well.

I have a 2001 featherlight 3 horse bumper pull horse trailer. The trailer has an electric hitch Jack, I can’t find a brand name on the electric hitch. I need a manual hand turn rod for this electric trailer hitch.
