Will the GoBluTech WaterStop Automatically Shut Off RV Water When You're Away?
Published 11/05/2026 >
Question:
My husband and I spend several months each winter in our fifth wheel, and we usually leave the campground during the day to go sightseeing or visit friends. Ive always worried about a water line leaking while were gone, especially since we leave the RV connected to city water. I found the GoBluTech WaterStop GB29FR and wondered how it works. If a fitting starts leaking under the kitchen sink while were away, will it actually shut the water off by itself, or do we have to see an alert on our phones and shut it off manually?

Hi Carol! Yes, the GoBluTech WaterStop RV Water Leak Detection System # GB29FR can automatically shut off your water when it detects a leak, so you don't have to be standing there with your phone waiting for an alert. It monitors your water flow for unusual activity, and the included wireless sensor can detect water in an area like underneath your kitchen sink. If the system detects a leak, it closes the valve to help keep that water from continuing to run. You'll also get a notification through the Blu Onyx App when the system is connected and able to send alerts.
I think that's a pretty nice bit of peace of mind when you're away from the campground for the afternoon. It connects to standard 3/4 inch garden hose threads, so you don't have to start cutting into your RV plumbing to install it. You get one wireless leak sensor with the system, and you can add more with part # GB56FR if you want to monitor other spots around your fifth wheel.
Are you mainly concerned about leaks under the sinks, or would you want to monitor areas like the bathroom and water heater too?
