Why Does My Snap Ring Trailer Jack Fit Loose in the Mounting Bracket?
Published 10/27/2026 >
Question:
Looking for a snap ring jack with a slightly smaller than normal mount. Generally they are 2 1/2 inches but I need one thats closer to 2 3/8. The 2 1/2 inch fits but feels too loose. the current jack plate also has a slightly thinner snap ring. thanks

Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out. The standard snap ring size is 2-1/2", and all of the snap ring jacks we offer use this same standard size mount. If your jack feels loose in the mount, that makes me think your mount may be worn down or damaged and is in need of replacement.
I do see you ordered the Round Snap Ring Swivel Trailer Jack # TJB-2002-B from us a few weeks ago. If I were you, I'd take the mount that came with that jack and use it to replace your old one.
What trailer are you setting up?
