How to Add Adjustable Tie-Down Points for Toolboxes and Generator in 2025 GMC Sierra 1500?

Published 10/14/2026

Question:

Hi I'm an electrician and use my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 for side jobs. I've got a rolling Milwaukee Packout setup and a small generator that I take to job sites. The factory hooks are all the way in the corners, so I'm constantly running straps across the entire bed and trying to get myself wedged in there and reach down lol. Is there something I can install that gives me more places to attach straps without installing a full ladder rack?

Hey Shane!

Yes, the Z-TRAK 56" Cargo Rail # ZT54FR fits your 2025 Sierra 1500 and will make securing your equipment a whole lot easier!

It mounts across the front bed wall using the included self-drilling screws and comes with two O-ring anchors. Since the rail works with standard E-track accessories, you can position your tie-down points wherever they're most convenient instead of constantly reaching down to the factory hooks.

I'd also recommend the Secure Anything Pro Bundle # ZT37VR, which includes retractable ratchet straps, additional anchors, clip rings, and a bungee strap. But of course you can use standard E-Track accessories as well like the anchor # e87HR or strap # SL58AR.

For even more attachment points, the Universal Side Rail Kit # ZT74VR lets you add rails along the sides of the bed.

Would having tie-down points along both sides of the bed make things easier for you, or do you think the rail across the front would be enough?

Thanks andrew. I didn't know they worked with standard etrack stuff. that's good to know. And I'll look into the side rail kit after installing everything and see if I think I need more tiedowns. thanks again.
