Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2027/2028 Toyota Highlander

my plan is to buy a new Highlander next year, will this hitch fit if it does have a tow package?

Hey Tanya, yes the etrailer hitch part # e69ZV that you referenced is a confirmed fit for the 2027 and the 2028 Toyota Highlander so it will fit and is your best option. I really like this hitch because it is mostly hidden and because it has great towing capacities. Are you planning on doing some towing?

Hi Tonya, I have installed etrailer hitches on my 2024 Highlander and our new 2026 Grand Highlander. Both hithches were perfect fits and easy to install. It helps to have 2 people to lift the hitch into position because of the weight and needing a free hand to insert the bolts into the pre-drilled locations on the vehicle frame. I prefer the way the etrailer hitch fits below the bumper compared to the toyota hitch which rests in the bumper cover.

I have a 2026 Grand Highlander that did not have the tow package. I purchased this hitch and it installed perfectly without any issue. The size and weight of the hitch make it a bit awkward to deal with, so it would be handy if you had a second person helping out. I didn't, but used a floor jack to support one side while I worked on the other and that worked too, but a second person would be easier. I'm using the hitch for a bike rack and WeatherTech bumpstep when the bike rack isn't in there, so not used for towing, therefore just installed the hitch and not a trailer light connector.
