Is There a Compact Jack Stand for Travel Trailer Tire Changes
Updated 10/17/2026 | Published 10/12/2026 >
Question:
I already carry a bottle jack for our travel trailer, but I'd like to add a stand for tire changes. My garage stands take up too much room in the pass-through compartment. Is there one that comes apart for storage?

Hey Nathan! I'd recommend the Power Mountain Tallboy Jack Stand # PM75ZR. It comes apart and packs into the included 9" x 9" x 7" storage bag, so you aren't trying to squeeze an assembled garage stand into the camper. The foam inserts keep the pieces organized and help cut down on rattling while traveling.
This is one stand rated for 12,000 lbs, with seven support heights from 10-13/16" to 28-3/4". You can use your existing bottle jack to raise the trailer, then transfer the load to the stand.
What travel trailer do you have?

It's a 28-foot travel trailer with tandem axles. Would I put the stand under the axle or the trailer frame when changing a tire?
