Recommended SumoSprings for a 2015 Forest River FR3 Motorhome

Updated 10/12/2026 | Published 10/11/2026

Question:

I have a 2015 Fr3 30Ds. When leaving my driveway my hitch bottoms out. Do you have any recommendations on how to avoid that? One thought i had is that i installed sumo springs from etrailer on the front suspension and that seemed to lift the front end up a bit. Would rear sumos give the same impact? I suspect it would and I believe that would be just enough for me to clear the driveway It barely scrapes, but it scrapes

Welcome back Mark. The SumoSprings Maxim Helper Springs item # SSR-187-40-1 will help raise your rear end just enough so you can back out of your driveway without dragging your hitch. These are custom fit for your 2015 Forest River FR3 30DS motorhome.

The SumoSprings Maxim Helper Springs item # SSR-187-40-1 have a 3,000 lbs capacity. They're designed to limit your motorhome's rear suspension from sagging, so like the front ones item # SSF-170-40-2 they'll provide immediate support.

What do you typically use your motorhome's hitch for? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
