Question:

I am confused. You say a Grand Cherokee Summit 2024 without louvers or tow hooks, your baseplate part is RM97NQ. But then later state without these features the correct part is RM76RR. So which is it?

Hello Bob,

Let's clear this up once and for all, I confirmed this directly with Roadmaster.

If your 2024 Grand Cherokee has the lower active grille shutters, you will need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM75GR.

If you do NOT have the lower active grille shutters, you will need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM76RR.

The easiest way to identify the lower active grille shutters is to look through the lower grille opening. They will look similar to horizontal blinds on a house, with a series of black horizontal slats behind the grille that open and close to control airflow.

So is there an application for the RM97NQ? Or is this meant for another vehicle? I am simply setting up a new tow vehicle. Been towing for 25 yrs.

@BobJ The # RM97NQ is for 2026-2027 Grand Cherokee Summit. Jeep must have had a big design change from the 2025 to 2026 model, so they needed to come up with a new base plate. 25 years, I bet you have seen some pretty amazing places!!
