Hi there Fordney
Yes, the NOCO GEN 2-Bank Charger # NOC34FR can be used with the factory dual-battery system in your 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500.
The charger has two independent 12V banks, so you would connect one bank directly to each battery. This works whether your factory setup has the two batteries connected together in parallel or uses the factory isolator setup found on some Silverado dual-battery systems.
Each bank provides up to 5 amps and can charge and maintain its battery independently.
Are you gearing up for keeping the diesel ready for winter use? We also have battery heat pads for really cold winters, which you could use # KH22200 for yours.

Thank you for the quick reply.. I don't have the diesel, I have the the 6.0 gas engine, which has the same battery configuration in it Your answer helps with me to do a better comparison and decision whether to use two separate units or a single charger/maintainer unit.
