Updated 10/09/2026 | Published 10/04/2026

Question:

I would like to replace the lock on the phoenix outdoor shower door with a quarter turn non-locking latch. I have not been able to locate what I need as it looks like the lock snaps into the door. Could you direct me to the item I am looking for?

Thanks for letting us help Dean. To replace the locking cam latch on your Phoenix Faucets RV Outdoor Shower Box # PF266701 with a non locking thumb turn style, I'd recommend the RV Designer Econo Cam Lock # RD93MR. This has the same 7/8" cylinder length and offset cam lever as the original lock, making it a good replacement for your shower box.

I wasn't able to find any specific instructions for removing the original lock, and there isn't a screw on the inside securing the cam lever like you might find on similar locks. I actually walked down to our warehouse and took a look at the # PF266701 to see how it's assembled. It appears you'll first need to remove the black retaining clip with the two tabs on the inside of the door. Once that's removed, it should expose the retaining nut underneath. You can then loosen and remove that nut, allowing the existing lock cylinder to slide out of the door.

How did the installation of the outdoor shower box go?

Shower box replacement went very smoothly. I had to remove a drawer in the camper to access the plumbing connections. After that, I was able to remove the old box and install the new one in about ten minutes. The replacement thumb latch worked well. I did have to shorten the blade on the new one as it hit the top of the box. After grinding it down to the height of the original blade, everything worked wonderfully. Thanks for the help!
