Is There Curt Front Hitch that Fits 2005 Silverado 1500LD
Published 09/23/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 extended cab LS with 4wd 5.3L. Looking at the Curt Front Mount Hitch 31108 for it. I have a Ranch Hand grill guard on front and saw a couple photos in the reviews where it says it fit fine with no problems mounting/clearing. My truck is NOT a 1500HD. This will still work, correct? Mounting to use it to push around a small boat with trailer about 600lbs. Thanks!

Hey Mark, for your 2005 Silverado 1500 non HD the correct front hitch would be the part # 31302 which I cannot guarantee would work with your Ranch Hand grille guard. Normally grille guards and front hitches occupy the same area on the front of the vehicle and there just isn't a way to have both installed at the same time.
