Hey Jackie, thanks for reaching out. Here are the parts I recommend for flat towing your 2014 Ford Explorer XLT:

- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2632

- etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox and Curt Base Plates - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10.5K # e67ZR

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

That will cover all the main components. The charge line kit and brake lite relay are required. That way your battery will stay topped off, and the braking system can operate normally. Overall it will be a very solid, user friendly flat tow setup once it's all said and done.

You may also need a drop hitch # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV. Any height difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. I also recommend grabbing a cover # e76FV and a hitch lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.

What is the first trip you have planned once everything is set up?
