I’m going to buy an Aluma trailer with a fold up ramp gate. The latching system is a bit cumbersome. It has a bar, hitch pin and cotter pin. Do you have a better solution? Thank you for your time.

If the latch setup on the Aluma’s fold-up ramp gate is already looking like more hassle than you want to deal with, one option I’d seriously consider is replacing the gate setup altogether with our etrailer RapidRamps.
The RapidRamps bolt directly to the trailer and stay attached, but instead of one large gate, you get two individual aluminum ramps that can slide side-to-side to match the track width of whatever you're loading. When you're finished, they fold upright and use built-in latches to hold them securely in place, so you're not dealing with a separate bar, hitch pin, and cotter pin every time you raise or lower the ramps. The latches can also be locked while the ramps are stored upright.
We have both 5' and 6' versions, along with options depending on the width of the trailer. Each ramp is rated for 3,000 lbs, giving the pair a 6,000-lb total capacity.
