Hello Mark,

Thanks for writing in, and congratulations on the new Forester Wilderness!

Your 2026 Forester Wilderness comes with the factory raised roof rails, but it does not come standard with the crossbars you will need to mount an enclosed cargo box. You will want the Yakima TimberLine Roof Rack # Y39YD. This gives you the 50" black JetStream crossbars and TimberLine towers that attach directly to those factory raised rails.

For the enclosed cargo box, I really like the Yakima SkyBox NX 18 # Y45AV. It gives you 18 cubic feet of enclosed storage, which is a really nice amount of extra room for luggage, camping gear, and all the stuff that seems to multiply on a road trip.

One little installation pointer with the SkyBox is to position it as far forward on the crossbars as you can while keeping everything properly mounted. Before tightening it down, open your rear hatch all the way and make sure you have enough clearance between the hatch and the back of the box.

That will give you a complete roof rack and enclosed cargo setup for your new Wilderness.
