Question:

I am looking for either Thule or Yakima cargo box that is compatible with 2012 GMC Acadia with OEM factory installed crossbars. I will carry ski equipment in winter and camping gear in summer. The distance between the 2 OEM crossbars according to my measurements is 42 inches. What are your recommendations? Thank you.

We have a wide variety of Thule and Yakima cargo boxes compatible with your 2012 GMC Acadia with factory installed crossbars.

For a compatible Thule cargo box I recommend the Thule Pulse L Rooftop Cargo Box # TH615, which you referenced. The Pulse XL has a low profile and an aerodynamic shape that helps to reduce drag and wind noise when the box is mounted on your roof rack. This cargo box can be installed on your factory roof rack and not interfere with the opening of the rear hatch on your vehicle. It has a carrying capacity of 16 cubic feet and a weight capacity of 110 lbs. You can fit between 6 - 8 pairs of skis or 4 - 6 snowboards inside.

For a compatible Yakima cargo box I recommend the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Cargo Box, # Y95AV. This cargo box also has 16 cubic feet of storage space and carries 6 pairs of skies or up to 8 snowboards.
