Dimensions of 14001 Curt Class 4 Trailer Hitch Receiver
Updated 09/14/2026 | Published 09/07/2026 >
Question:
More dimensions in the 14001specs would be helpful. What is the distance from the bottom of the truck frame to the top of the receiver? What is the distance from the rear bolt hole to the back end of the receiver? Without those, its just a guess if it will fit. 1997 F-250 with extended tool bed.

Thanks for letting us help Keith. I took a trip down to our warehouse to get those measurements for you.
On the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14001, the distance from the top of the frame mounting bracket to the top of the receiver tube is 6-1/4". The distance from the center of the rearmost mounting hole to the back of the receiver tube is 11". I'm also including a few additional dimensional photos that you can use to compare the # 14001 directly with the frame and mounting points on your F-250. I've also included an installation video showing this hitch being installed on a 1997 Ford F-250.
Are you replacing an existing hitch receiver, or are you adding one to the truck for the first time?
