Best Battery Box For Two Litime 12V 320Ah Mini LiFePO4 Batteries

Question:

I have two Litime 12V 320Ah Mini LiFePO4 Battery with Self-Heating for RV - Dimensions: 14.49 × 7.44 × 10.63 in, only 57.3lbs I am looking for a lockable aluminum preferably black batter box that I can mount to the A-Frame on my travel trailer tongue assemble between the front of my coach and after my two-propane tank cover. Alternatively, if thats not possible, I would mount them inside my front pass-through across from my inverter. A. Can you recommend a lockable box that fits these 2 batteries that I can mount to my trailer A-Frame? B. Can you recommend a box that needing to be locked that I could mount inside my pass-through for these 2 batteries?

Hey Ted, thanks for reaching out. For your two Litime 12V 320Ah Mini LiFePO4 batteries, I recommend the TorkLift PowerArmor Locking Battery Box # TLA7700L. It has internal dimensions of 31" long x 7-5/8" wide x 12-7/8" deep, so your two 14.49" x 7.44" batteries will fit side-by-side with enough room for the battery connections.

This is a really nice option for mounting on the trailer A-frame if you have the space between the propane tanks and the front of the trailer. The outside dimensions of the box are 32" long x 10-1/2" wide x 13-1/4" tall. It is made from aluminum, has a locking lid to protect those expensive lithium batteries, and the lid also doubles as a storage tray. The box itself is black, and the aluminum construction gives you excellent corrosion resistance for an exposed tongue-mounted installation.

Before ordering, I recommend measuring the available space on the A-frame to make sure the 32" box clears the propane cover, trailer body, jack, and anything else mounted on the tongue. If space is too tight, mounting the batteries inside the front pass-through near the inverter is also a great option and has the added benefit of keeping the batteries protected from weather and shortening the high-current cable run to the inverter.

Really like mine. It didn't line up on my rv tounge to do the easiest hookup but enough different connection options offered I was able to put it on fairly easy.

Bought and installed spring of 2024. This is by far one of my better adds on the trailer. We'll built box easy to install and easy to remove the batteries and store for winter. Hauled the trailer over 3000 miles this summer with no worries.

I mounted mine on the A-frame just behind the propane tanks and in front of the trailer basement compartment. It barely squeezed in. My trailer is a 2023 Micro Minnie Winnebago 1720FB. The box now holds 4 Renogy 100Ah Core Lithium batteries. It had space left over which I use to store electric items. The mounting was done with self-tapping bolts. I am going to watch those closely since I have read comments online that self-tapping bolts can shake loose over time. Double check the battery box interior measurements before you buy. The battery cable length also comes into play so be sure you have slack or be prepared to add a bus-bar. This did add some weight to the hitch, but nothing that affected handling. So far it seems to work well.
