Replacement 7 Way and 4 Pin Trailer Connector for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche

Question:
I have a 2006 Avalanche that I need to replace the exsisting 7-Way Blade plug. I would like to install a 7-Way Blade and 4-Pin Flat Trailer Plug into the bumper rather than reuse the rusty and poorly design OEM bracket. What parts would I need to purchase?

Hi Glenn, for what you are looking to do, you need the Curt Dual Connection Socket with Bracket, part # C36GJ. It gives you both a 7 way RV style connector and a 4 way flat connector in one setup, and it includes a mounting bracket so you can install it at the bumper instead of reusing that rusty OEM bracket. Curt has a great reputation for wiring products, so I think this is a nice upgrade and a much cleaner solution for replacing your existing connector. Sorry to hear the original setup has gotten so rusty and become a headache.

Glen; It mounted beautifully to my 2005 Silverado (Avalanche is the same chassis I’m sure). I would suggest buying it from them because they are the experts. Ask for the 7 way connector option as well. Have a person to help you remove the old one. Ask me how I know/ I had the old hitch smack me in the in the nose. Best company to work with!!!!!
