Yes, the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY38FR can work with a recessed gooseneck ball in a flatbed truck. The ball needs to sit no more than 1" below the surface of the truck bed, and the recessed well must provide at least 5" of clearance around the gooseneck ball so the Gen-Y coupler has enough room to fit and articulate properly.
