I have a 2022 Heartland Mak=llard 32. I want to get a soft start. I know the A/C is Dometic but the writing on the sticker is so faded cannot make out model. I took pics and can send if that would help. Thank you Ken

Hey Ken, thanks for reaching out. Since you know you have a Dometic AC, I recommend the SoftStartRV Soft Start for Single Zone Air Conditioner Setup # SSR54FR. This is a universal soft start that works with Dometic rooftop AC units, so the faded model sticker is not a problem here. SoftStartRV even provides Dometic-specific wiring diagrams for installation.
The big benefit is that the # SSR54FR reduces the startup power demand by up to 70%. That takes a lot of strain off your electrical system when the compressor kicks on and makes it much easier to run the AC from a smaller generator or limited shore power without tripping a breaker. It also gives you a much smoother, quieter compressor startup instead of that big jolt you normally hear when an RV AC fires up.
Do you usually camp with full hookups? Or are you using a generator?
