Troubleshooting Dometic RV Thermostat that is Stuck at 32 Degrees

Question:

If the thermostat is stuck at 32 should I just replace the thermostat it self

Hey Geoffrey, yes if your Dometic thermostat part # DMC79FR is stuck on 32 degrees it would be time to replace it. Before you do that I would try unplugging it and plugging it back in to see if a hard reset will allow it to work though. Let me know if that does the trick. How old is your AC unit?

The camper is a 2020 how do i unplug it and plug it back in never done it before

@Geoffrey Basically you'll need to remove the wiring from the back of it to cut power to it. I should have mentioned that as it doesn't have a plug.

@JamesonC so I turn the main power off then unplug it then how ling do i want to turn the main power back on and is it hard to install it myself

@Geoffrey actually if you can cut power to it completely you wouldn't need to unplug it unless there is still power making it to the thermostat. Either way I would wait like 30 seconds and press a few buttons with it off to make sure all the capacitors are drained.
