Hey John, for a lithium battery you would need to select the fixed charge profile of the PowerMax AC to DC Converter w/ Built-In 3-2-1 Stage Battery Charger # PM34VR and then set voltage to 14.4 volts since you have a lithium battery.

Hey John, for a lithium battery you would need to select the 2 stage charge profile of the PowerMax AC to DC Converter w/ Built-In 3-2-1 Stage Battery Charger # PM34VR as that ramps up the charge voltage up to the correct voltage for a lithium battery. What battery do you have?

Actually I think your recommendation is incorrect. The lithium battery needs a bulk charge of 14.4, which it will get on the 3 stage setting. Using the 3 stage I will also get to utilize the trickle charge. As long as I confirm the bulk charge is 14.4 or adjust the setting to 14.4 then the 3 stage will work. That's according to the documentation provided by BattleBorn.

@JohnD actually fixed voltage mode set at 14.4 volts is what you'd want to use. 3 stage ramps up to 14.4, then goes down to 13.6 and third stage being 13.2.

@JamesonC I'm not trying to show you up, but I think it's important to share the correct information. I may be wrong, but PowerMax has a link on their website to BattleBorn on the setup: The Powermax PM3-55LK AC to DC Converter/Charger is a fantastic converter/charger that works tremendously well with Battle Born 100Ah 12V LiFePO4 batteries! The most prominent feature of this charger is the ability to manually adjust the charging voltage. This is huge for LiFePO4 batteries because it enables the user to charge their LiFePO4 batteries to the ideal 14.4 V and get the most life and power out of their battery! Once the charger is adjusted to the 14.4 V, the unit will have the following values for its 3-stage smart charging: Bulk Charge: 14.4 V Absorption Charge: 13.6 V Float Charge: 13.2 V

@JohnD Problem is that you wouldn't ever want the voltage to lower down to 13.6 and then 13.2 since it's a lithium battery. Our understanding for a long time has been that lithium batteries need 14.4 volts at all times and you don't want to vary the voltage like lead acid batteries.
