Can I Install Just the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers on My Brinkley G3950?

Updated 08/23/2026 | Published 08/13/2026

Question:

I know that the full comfort ride system will not work on my G3950 without cutting the Vinch brackets. Just wondering if i can go with just the shock absorbers? and if they would add any benefits. I have 3 D70 axles.

Hi Wes,

You can definitely use the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Triple Axle Trailers - 5,200 to 7,000-lb Axle Part # RM-2460-3 on your Brinkley G3950 without needing to use the full Comfort Ride system. Since you have three D70 axles, you have 3" in diameter Dexter axles rated for 7,000lbs which will work perfectly with the # RM-2460-3.

Adding the shock absorbers will still help improve the quality of your ride, even without the slipper spring part of the system. You'll especially see improvements with bouncing, chucking, and side-to-side movements. The shock absorbers will reduce how much road shock gets transferred to the trailer and tow vehicle, giving you a more controlled ride. The shock kit uses replacement U-bolt/tie plates at the axles and separate upper brackets on the frame, so you'll want to check and make sure you have enough space above the axles for the upper shock bracket.

What are you wanting to improve the most about your current ride quality?
