Hi Ismeal,

Yes, you can still use a weight distribution hitch with your AirSafe hitch part # AS22FR as long as the weight distribution head is designed to bolt to a 2 inch square shank. The AirSafe includes weight distribution brackets specifically designed to support this type of setup. Just keep in mind that when a weight distribution system is used, the AirSafe hitch’s rated tongue weight capacity is reduced by 25 percent. so you’ll want to make sure your loaded tongue weight stays within the AirSafe’s adjusted capacity.

For example the Air Safe hitch part # AS22FR has a 2,500 lb tongue weight capacity, that capacity is reduced by 25 percent when using weight distribution, giving you a maximum allowable tongue weight of 1,875 lbs. The 25 percent reduction applies to the capacity of the AirSafe hitch to account for the additional leverage and stress created by the weight distribution system.

What weight distribution system are you currently using?
