Question:

I’m looking for a bumper hitch for my 2004 ford ranger. The bolt spread is 5 inches and I believe the was one on the bumper at one time, thanks

Hey Chuck, thanks for reaching out. We do have trailer hitches for a 2004 Ford Ranger, but nothing that would bolt onto the bumper. Our hitches are all frame mounted.

For example, the hitch I recommend is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e29AR. This will bolt directly to the frame using the included hardware.

We don't have any hitches that bolt to a 5" bumper, so a frame mounted hitch will be our best option.

What will you be using the hitch for?

I would only frame mounted hitches. Safety.

I installed it on my 1999 ranger, and the installation was smooth and easy! The fit could not have been better and those bolts, nuts, and plate washers give a very secure feeling. I have been towing all kinds of stuff with confidence.
