What is the Weight Capacity of the LockRack Watersport Carrier Universal Crossbar Adapters?

I’m looking to mount an old Yakima space cadet. I know I can modify the carrier to take this clamp. But I would like to know what the weight threshold would be for a set of 4 of these clamps.

Hey Lawrence. The LockRack Watersport Carrier Universal Crossbar Adapters item # LR53FR have a 175 lbs capacity. The capacity of them is determined by the carrier they're designed for. This kit includes four adapters that fit crossbars up to 2-1/2" wide and 1-1/2" tall.
I recommend picking up the LockRack Replacement T-Bolt Spacer Pack item # LR72FR. You'll need these to get the Adapters item # LR53FR to connect to your older Yakima space cadet cargo box.

I have factory crossbars on my 2021 RAV4 but they are too short to carry 2 canoes or a canoe plus my Yakima long case. I have 78” Thule square crossbars and drilled holes to take a bolt for the Lockracks that goes into the Thule bars. Perfect. The 4 Lockrack clamps on the 2 Thule bars take everything with no strain. The Lockracks come with rubber inserts on the inside and they can fall off when not in use, so I used electrical tape to hold them in place.
